DOES THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT PERMIT SEXUAL ACITIVITY, AS LONG AS ADULTERY IS AVOIDED?

The spirit of the seventh commandment is taught by Jesus Matthew 5:27-30. Looking lustfully at a member of the opposite sex is an action far short of intercourse. Yet Jesus warns that this common daily occurrence violates the intentions of the commandment.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (2 CORINTHIANS 11:22-33 “SUFFERING FOR CHIRST”)

22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I

23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

WHY DID JOHN THE BAPTIST DRESS AND ACT SO DIFFERENTLY FROM OTHERS?

John the Baptist set himself apart from the normal lifestyle of his world to do what God had called him to do. He did not drink alcohol or cut his hair. IS CIVIL REBELLION EVER JUSTIFIED? (2 CHRONICLES 10:16-19)

The Bible is not definitive on this point, so each person, church, and movement must come to peace with its position. Certainly the Bible includes several stories of resistance to government, even armed resistance. Sometimes, as in this passage, no moral judgment is attached to the report of resistance. Warfare is constant throughout of the Old Testament, including warfare ordained by God.

DOES EVERYONE HAVE A GUARDIAN ANGEL?

The idea that particular angel is assigned to each person or believer was popular during the medieval era but suffered under the theological housecleaning of the Reformation. Only one distant reference to the possibility occurs in Matthew 18:10.

IS JESUS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD?

In our eclectic, pluralistic era, it may sound arrogant to claim that God forgives sins by one way only, and that one person only-Jesus-speaks the truth about God. How can Christians be so exclusive?
