ROMANS 8: 38-39: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angles, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is one of the more inspiring passages in all the writings of the apostle Paul. Generations of Christians have claimed its promised that no force on earth or heaven is strong enough to break the grip of God’s love on their lives. This passage is also unusual because Paul strings together three separate names or titles of God the Son-Christ, Jesus, and Lord-to express this truth in such a powerful way. Christ means “the Anointed One” or “The Messiah”. Jesus was His personal name, which means “God is Salvation” (Luke 1:31; 2:21). Lord expresses His unlimited dominion and power, a characteristic that Jesus shares with God the Father. With Paul, we can declare that Christ Jesus Our Lord walks with us through every experience of life, and His love will never let us go. Other variations on this name are Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18), Lord Christ (Colossians 3:24), and Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour (Titus 1:4).
