LEADING OTHERS

[Jesus said] “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults-unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging.” MATTHEW 7:1-2

Discernment raises warning flags while being judgmental assumes you know enough about a situation that you can say something is true when you really have no idea.

We can decide that we want to be helpful by pointing out every flaw we see in someone. While we feel we’re being helpful, we actually distance ourselves from others. God is their judge. What they need is a friend. Pray for them, love them, and if you discern there are issues to avoid, then avoid them.

Stand back and watch God work. He’s done this before.

(Teen Prayer) Dear God. You gave us the cure for a judgmental attitude. Really love people. Your love has a way of helping me accept in spite of faults. May I allow You to work without my less-than-expert opinion. Amen.
