SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (PSALM 89: 1-11)

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (MATTHEW 25:1-15)

15 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (PROVERBS 4:1-15)

Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (PROVERBS 27:1-14)

1.Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath is heavier than them both.

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (PSALM 78 1-10 “GOD’S KINDNESS TO REBELLOUS ISRAEL”)

1.Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (LUKE 6:37-42 “DO NOT JUDGE”)

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (PROVERBS 15:1-10)

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

SCRIPTION OF THE DAY (1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-16) ONE BODY WITH MANY PARTS

bible_0_012. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Continue reading SCRIPTION OF THE DAY (1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-16) ONE BODY WITH MANY PARTS

BIBLE CUSTOMS AND CURIOSITIES (GOD’S HAND AND EAR)

Isaiah 59:1- The LORD’S  hand [arm niv] is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy [dull niv], that it cannot hear.

This verse is one of the best examples in the Bible of what theologians call an anthropomorphism (Greek Anthropos [man] +morphe  [form]. This big word describes the way biblical writers often described God in human terms. Isaiah in this verse said God has a powerful hand that can deliver His people and an ear that is always ready to hear their prayers. Continue reading BIBLE CUSTOMS AND CURIOSITIES (GOD’S HAND AND EAR)
