WHAT IS THE THOUSAND-YEAR REIGN OF CHRIST (REVELATION 20:4)

1453166-bigthumbnail

Commonly called the Millennium, three positions are taken on its meaning and identity:

1.  Postmillennialists (the most popular evangelical view of a century ago) teach that the thousand-year reign occurs at the end of history when the world has turned to Christ, for the most part. Christian values dominate world cultures in a period that typifies God’s original plan for creation. Christ is not literally on earth, but His message and people cover the earth. The second coming of Christ occurs as the capstone of this period. Continue reading WHAT IS THE THOUSAND-YEAR REIGN OF CHRIST (REVELATION 20:4)

MEN OF THE BIBLE (MEN OF FAITH: FIND A WAY)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (TITUS 3:1-5 DO WHAT IS GOOD)

  1. Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
  2. To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
  3. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

HOW CAN KNOWING CHRIST MAKE YOU ALIVE?

0_bkhpiytopfd50hfu

Knowing Christ makes you alive because God wakes up your spiritual nature that was previously dead. Jesus called that being “born again.” Just as we were born physically and bought into the living, breathing, and moving of physical life, God wants to awaken  the spiritual nature He created in each one of us. When we seek God, His Spirit breathes new life into us and we become alive in Christ.  Continue reading HOW CAN KNOWING CHRIST MAKE YOU ALIVE?

HOW CAN YOU FIND PEACE?

44

In Psalm 34, David is on his knees pouring out his heart to God in repentance, thanksgiving, faith, and in request to God for assurance, strength, deliverance, and instruction. He says, “I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (34:4). Continue reading HOW CAN YOU FIND PEACE?

MEN OF THE BIBLE “ELI: GOOD DAD, BAD DAD”

006-samuel-listens

Judges led Israel before the coming of the kings, but though Eli the high priest served God for forty years, he wasn’t named as a judge. He acted nobly at first but turned a blind eye to injustices as he grew older. Most of these injustices had to do with his sons who were abusing the women of the temple and helping themselves to the offering. Continue reading MEN OF THE BIBLE “ELI: GOOD DAD, BAD DAD”

BIBLE SIGNS AND SYMBOLS (BETHLEHEM)

View of Har Homa (Hebrew illegal settlement) from Bethlehem 2010

The very name Bethlehem immediately awakens thoughts of carol lyrics and the story of Christmas. Yet the tale of that little town reaches far back into history, when the Promised Land was just a promise. The village is first mentioned, almost as a sad footnote, in the itinerary of Jacob’s trip back from Haran with his growing family, only to have his beloved Rachel go into labor just outside Ephrath (Gen 35:16) and die while giving birth to the youngest of the patriarch’s sons, Benjamin. Her burial place is identified as Bethlehem (Gen 35:19). Continue reading BIBLE SIGNS AND SYMBOLS (BETHLEHEM)
