In the book of Daniel, written years before Rome burst on the world scene, a Jewish exile in Persia interpreted a dream for King Nebuchadnezzar. The dream featured a huge statue made of different layers of material: gold, silver, bronze, iron, and iron mixed with clay. HOW DOES THE “GOOD NEWS” ACTUALLY CHANGE A PERSON’S LIFE?

The Good News is powerful and life changing. It’s the true story of Jesus Christ coming to earth as a human to give His life as a sacrifice and payment for our sins. Through Jesus we have an open door to God’s forgiveness and eternal life.  The Good News is full of hope, and responding to Jesus is the start of a new life. God’s Holy Spirit makes us a new creation (see 2 Corinthians 5: 17). We’re not just turning over a  new leaf; we are starting a new life and putting Jesus in charge.

Now let me remind you, brothers, of what the Gospel really is, for it has not changed-it is the same Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then and still do now, for your faith is squarely built upon this wonderful message; and it is this Good News that saves you if you still firmly believe it, unless of course you never really believe it in the first place.
