WILL CHRISTIANS FACE A DAY OF JUGDEMENT?

Believer was one day stand before Christ and be held accountable for how they have lived (2 Corintians 5:10). Apparently, believers in the first century trembled at the thought of such a judgment. Truly the thought of such a judgment. Truly the thought is sobering. Yet John shows how we can drive such fear of it from our lives.

First, we must comprehend how much God loves us. Because Christ has taken the punishment we deserve, our sins are completely forgiven. When we grasp this truth-that we are fully accepted in Christ-we find a great sense of freedom.

Second, we must love others. If we spend our lives caring for others and putting their needs first, then the judgment seat of Christ will become a time for gaining, not losing, rewards. We will hear our Master say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).

1 Johh 4:1717 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
