YOU CAN’T GET TO HEAVEN ALONE!

We need each other. It is easier to do right when there are others to encourage us (Ecclesiastes 4:10, 11). But that is not the focus of this tract. Many people believe they can get to heaven alone-with only one of God’s list of salvation essentials.  Interestingly,  the  word  “alone”  is  found  108  times  in  Scripture (37 times in the New Testament) but is never used with any one of the twenty-six different things to which salvation is attributed.  Let’s examine some of the ways that people try to get to heaven “alone.”

O God, your land has been conquered by the heathen nations. Your Temple is defiled, and Jerusalem is a heap of ruins. The bodies of your people lie exposed-food for birds and animals. The enemy has butchered the entire population of Jerusalem; blood has flowed like water. No one is left even to bury them. The nation all around us scoff. They heap contempt on us.

MANNERS AND CUSTOMS OF THE BIBLE (THE ARK OF THE COVENANT)

This ark of the testimony is better known by its alternate name, “ark of the covenant” (Deuteronomy 31:26. It is also called “the ark of God” (1 Samuel 3:3).  It was a sacred portable chest that symbolized God’s grace and guidance in the lives of the Israelites.

A BAPTISM OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

It is interesting to go back in time to see the church in its primitive state. . .when the Spirit was still directly instructing Christians on how God wanted religion practiced.

One of the most detailed cases of conversion is the Ethiopian whom Philip taught while traveling down a lonely back road (Acts 8:26-40). This treasurer requested baptism, and Philip conducted his baptism in the way God approves.
