Either the number is a cryptic way of identifying an actual person (equal to the sum of the numeric equivalents of the letters in a name), or it is a symbol of evil. The latter interpretation derives form the idea of perfection associated with the number seven (seven days of Creation, seven lampstands, etc.) and the idea of completion associated with the number three (the three persons of the Trinity). By these terms, the number six repeated three times would indicate complete imperfection, that is, evil.

WHY SUBMIT TO GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY WHEN SO MUCH OF IT IS CORRUPT AND MORALLY WORNG?
This verse is a guideline, not a rule without exception. Peter and John paid no heed to government edicts in Acts 4. The Old Testament’s preeminent statesman, Daniel, refused to comply with government strictures on prayer (Daniel 6). When civil law clearly contravenes divine command, biblical precedent calls for appropriate civil disobedience.

Children normally played in the open because it was dark inside the houses. Even though outdoor games and toys predominated, there were many indoor games as well. The outdoor games included “hopscotch,” running, use of bow and arrow for target and distance shooting (1 Samuel 20:20-21; Lamentations 3:12), aiming stones into a pit, marbles aimed through three arches, and games with balls (throwing and catching, juggling).

This is a good description of an ancient Middle Eastern meal in Old Testament times. The meal consisted of bread baked from wheat flour (Genesis 18:6), milk, butter or curds, and meat from a freshly slaughtered calf (Genesis 43:16). A typical meal of this period consisted of a vegetable stew with no meat, so Abraham probably provided the meat as a special delicacy for his guests. The milk was probably goat milk.

11. And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Pray so that you won’t be influenced by natural reactions and natural responses to cleverly designed commercials and ideas.
We are commanded to pray for our country and our leaders. But having prayed, God expects us to act. The elections in the United States are vital to the future of this nation. Our country is in the midst of a spiritual outpouring, and it’s vitally important that the right people be elected. We must see to it.

Many people are troubled by Old Testament images of God as an angry, vengeful deity. Nahum 1:2 (NIV) says, “The LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.” Some people wonder if God evolved from a God of wrath into a God of love. No, He says, “I am the LORD, I change not” (Malachi 3:6 kjv).

24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

The apostle Peter declared in this verse that Jesus the Messiah had been foretold in the Old Testament. These prophecies were like “a light that shineth in a dark place.” But when He arrived on earth, the full light of His glory burst forth, like the dawning of a new day.

Did you know that the seemingly innocent things in your everyday life can suffocate your spiritual life you allow it?
A friend of mine said the Lord told her in prayer one day that this nation had become a nation of maintenance men. “You have so many things to maintain,” He told her. “You maintian your house. You maintian your car, your yard, your machines, your hair…. ”
