THE HUMANITY OF JESUS CHRIST: HOW HE WAS FULLY HUMAN AND FULLY GOD.

Jesus Christ is a central figure in Christianity, believed to be the Son of God and the savior of humanity. One of the most important aspects of Jesus’ life and ministry is his humanity. While he is considered to be fully God, he is also fully human. This means that he experienced all the joys, sorrows, and challenges of human existence. This article will explore the humanity of Jesus Christ and provide scriptural evidence for this belief.

One of the clearest indications of Jesus’ humanity is his physical body. The Bible tells us that he was born of a woman, just like any other human being. In the gospel of Luke, we read about the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and telling her that she will give birth to a son: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35). This shows that Jesus was conceived and born in the same way as any other human being.

Furthermore, Jesus experienced hunger, thirst, fatigue, and pain just like any other human being. In the gospel of Matthew, we read about Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness: “After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry” (Matthew 4:2). This shows that Jesus experienced physical hunger just like any other human being. In addition, Jesus was also known to become tired and exhausted. In the gospel of John, we read about Jesus sitting by a well and asking a Samaritan woman for a drink of water: “Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well” (John 4:6). This shows that Jesus experienced physical fatigue just like any other human being.

Another aspect of Jesus’ humanity is his emotional life. The Bible tells us that Jesus experienced a range of emotions, including joy, anger, sorrow, and compassion. In the gospel of Luke, we read about Jesus weeping at the death of his friend Lazarus: “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). This shows that Jesus experienced sorrow and grief just like any other human being. In addition, Jesus was known to show compassion and empathy towards others. In the gospel of Mark, we read about Jesus healing a blind man: “Jesus had compassion on him and touched his eyes” (Mark 8:22-25). This shows that Jesus experienced empathy and compassion just like any other human being.

Finally, Jesus’ humanity is also evident in his death and resurrection. The Bible tells us that Jesus was crucified, died, and was buried. In the gospel of John, we read about the soldiers who crucified Jesus: “But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs” (John 19:33). This shows that Jesus experienced physical death just like any other human being. However, the Bible also tells us that Jesus was raised from the dead three days later. In the gospel of Luke, we read about the women who went to Jesus’ tomb and found it empty: “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:5-6). This shows that Jesus’ humanity was not the end of the story, but rather a prelude to his divinity.

In conclusion, the humanity of Jesus Christ is a central aspect of Christian theology. While he is believed to be fully God, he is also fully human. This means that he experienced all the joys, sorrows, and challenges of human existence. The evidence for Jesus’ humanity can be found in his physical body, emotional life, and death and resurrection. As Christians, we believe that Jesus’ humanity makes him.

  1. Three things I believe are important: Jesus is thee central figure in Christianity, His conception was not like any other human, He wept not because Lazarus died, but because of Mary and Martha’s sorrow was so great. Great post as to the reminder of Emmanuel (God WITH us).
