MEN OF THE BIBLE (LAZARUS: BACK FROM THE GRAVE)

JOHN 11:3 NIV- Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. . . So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”

As you lie on your sickbed, hoping Jesus shows up in times to heal you, your sisters, Mary and Martha, are doing everything they know to do help you-including sending word to Jesus about your condition. But He doesn’t show up in time and you fade away and die.      The next thing  you know, hear a loud, familiar voice calling to you, “Lazarus, come out!” (John 11:43). Resurrection power surges through your body as your open your eyes to discover that you’re wrapped in grave clothes and re lying in a tomb. You obey your friend’s command and leave the cave to find a stunned crowd. Several people begin to free you from your grave clothes, and you can hardly believe what has taken place. You were dead, but now you’re alive.

Jesus performs a similar miracle every time a sinner, who is dead in sin repents, turning toward Him, He calls us forth from spiritual death and eternal separation from Him to everlasting life in a heavenly mansion. As Colossians 2:14 (NIV) says, “When you were dead in your sins and in the circumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ.”

Hallelujah!
