“Why me, Lord?” We have all asked it. Why  does is always have to rain on my parade? Why did this have to happen to me? Why my child? Why my marriage? Why my job? Why? Why? WHY?

The answer may be found in an obscure Old Testament passage where God is pictured as

SALAVATION IS FREE, BUT IT IS NOT CHEAP

cheap-malaga-airport-transfersJesus never said grace! Believe it or not, the Bible doesn’t record where Jesus ever used that word. It was used of Him (Luke 2:40; John 1:14, 16, 17) but never by Him. But don’t misunderstand: He taught it; He lived it He just never said it. Then again, He said a lot about grace. We call a whole category of HIs stories the “grace parables.” Classifications vary, but most lists include at least eight grace parables, including some of His most famous.

The shortest is Luke 7:41, 42: “There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he

The Bible is a Book about a love story, it is about God’s love for humanity and His wooing of our affection through the mediator of His Son. The word “love” (various forms) is found 419 times in the Bible. The Book of First John has love for its theme. WHAT DID GOD MEAN BY IDENTIFYING HIMSELF TO MOSES AS “I AM WHO I AM”?

opera27

When  you ask for someone’s identity, you normally get a name. Names distinguish individuals from other people. Jane differs from Sarah and from Jennifer, who are all women, similar in many ways yet distinct. But God has no similar others; thus God has no name.

WHAT DOES GOD’S GLORY LOOK LIKE?

jesus-healing

Moses had asked to see God’s glorious presence (Exodus 33:18). God responded by passing in front of Moses with all His glory, What is God’s glory? It is His character, His nature, His way of relating to His creatures. Notice that God did not give Moses a vision of HIs power and majesty but, rather, of HIs love. God’s glory is revealed in His mercy, grace, compassion, faithfulness, forgiveness, and justice. God’s love and mercy are truly wonderful, and we benefit from them, We can respond and give glory to God when our character resembles His.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY (JAMES 3: 1-9)

1. My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

2. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

3. Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

4. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

WHY DOES PAUL URGE THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC DRINK? (1 Timothy 5:23)

alcoholDrink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities. (from the original HOLY BIBLE)

(By the way, this doesn’t mean you should completely give up drinking wine, You ought to take a little sometimes as medicine for your stomach because you are sick so often) (from the KIDS APPLICATION BIBLE)

“A little wine” for the sake of settling a prolonged health condition is no violation of biblical directives concerning drunkerneess.Paul was not affected by the modern notion that all alcoholic drink is wrong and must be studiously avoided. Rather , Paul avoided the misuse of wine, but like any other food substance, he understood its proper use as well.  Gluttony in any form is unhealthy and morally wrong because it spoils the body and weakens the individual. Moderate use of wine is no violation of Christian standards in Paul’s eyes.
