One day, King Josiah noticed that the Temple needed repairs. So he ordered men to fix it up. While they were working, someone found a scroll with God’s laws written on it (2 Kings 22:8). When Josiah heard what was written on the scroll, he became very sad.
He knew that his nation, Judah, was not obeying God’s laws. Instead, they had started worshiping idols! So Josiah went throughout the land and tore down the idols that the people were worshiping.
Then he ordered the people to worship the Lord again, and there was a great celebrations. Josiah’s story reminds us not to forget about God’s Word. We need to read it every day and do what it says.
