When Jesus makes a promise, He keeps it. Previous generations thought they would see Jesus’ return, but they did not. Through this long wait, God has been faithful to His people. The church has grown. God’s family is getting larger.
No one knows the time schedule of Jesus return, so we continue to wait, just as believers waited in the early church. True believers refuse to turn to idols (immediate, though false, images of divine power) and are looking forward to that day when Jesus will surely return (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
2 PETER 3:3-4 – 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
