MEN OF THE BIBLE (NOAH: WALKING WITH GOD)

Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. Genesis 6:9 NLT

The Bible lists Noah as a hero of faith and explains that he built the ark despite the fact that a worldwide flood had never happened before (Hebrews 11:7). God gave specific instructions, which Noah followed exactly in building the ark and bringing the animals inside. His efforts showed unparalleled determination as he was mocked for years while building the ark. He had victory over impossible circumstances because he obeyed God and saved himself, his wife, his three sons and their three wives,

Once the floodwaters receded, God commanded the family to leave the ark, and they did that. Noah’s first action was to build an altar and make a sacrifice to the Lord. The world started afresh with a leader who “walked with God.” In Noah’s evil time he could not walk in fellowship with others because they were given over to sin. Instead he had fellowship with God. He exhibited faithfulness, patience, and persistence. Noah demonstrated that a person could remain loyal to God even in the heart of a dark and corrupt world.

A person’s character is reflected by those with whom he walks. By walking and talking with God we become more like Him and less like the world that seeks to make us conform to sinful ways.
