It is cosmic conflict between the forces of good and evil. The outcome has been determined, but eh ongoing conflict still includes a great number of victories and defeats. The soul and life of each person is the battleground.

The intensity of this war may remain largely unseen, but the evidence of its reality and the tragedy of casualties lie all around us in the form of broken marriages, errant children, careers gone sour, greed run rampant, opportunities for witness lost, and even sickness, disease, and ecological devastation. Each person in God’s kingdom doing real-world work-carpentry, teaching, health care, whatever-at the same time stalls the advance of evil and advances the influence of God’s message.

EPHESIANS 6:12 – 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
