Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

² Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.

³ The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Waiting on God is one of the hardest things believers will ever face. Many people pray for answers, healing, direction, or breakthrough and expect immediate results. But there are seasons when God seems silent and nothing appears to change. During those weak moments, people may feel discouraged, frustrated, or even forgotten by God. Yet the Bible teaches that waiting on God is not wasted time. Often, it is during the waiting season that God is building strength, faith, patience, and spiritual maturity.

One thing many Christians notice is that spiritual battles often become stronger right before something important happens in their lives. Just when a person starts growing closer to God, praying more, stepping into purpose, or believing for change, challenges suddenly increase. Temptation becomes stronger, discouragement shows up, confusion rises, and it can feel like everything is working against them. While this can be frustrating, the Bible shows that spiritual warfare often comes before breakthrough.

Spiritual weakness is something every believer experiences at different times in life. There are seasons when faith feels strong and steady, but there are also moments of exhaustion, discouragement, temptation, and spiritual dryness. While weakness itself is not the greatest danger, ignoring it can lead to serious spiritual consequences. When believers refuse to recognize or address their spiritual struggles, their relationship with God can slowly become damaged over time.

There are times when believers realize they are no longer as close to God as they once were. Life becomes busy, distractions increase, spiritual habits weaken, and slowly the relationship with God begins to fade. Some people drift away because of disappointment, pain, sin, unanswered prayers, or the pressures of life. Others simply become spiritually careless over time. No matter how far a person feels from God, the good news is that God always welcomes those who sincerely return to Him.
