Many people battle negative self talk every day. They tell themselves they are not good enough, not smart enough, not attractive enough, or not capable enough. Over time, these thoughts can become deeply rooted and affect how they view themselves, others, and even God. Negative self talk can weaken faith, destroy confidence, and rob believers of the joy and peace that God desires for them. The good news is that God’s Word provides the truth needed to overcome these harmful thoughts.

One of the most encouraging truths in all of Scripture is that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. In a world where people often struggle with self doubt, insecurity, and comparison, God’s Word reminds us that our lives are not accidents. We were intentionally created by a loving Creator who designed us with purpose and care.

Every person desires confidence. Confidence helps us face challenges, overcome obstacles, and pursue the purpose God has for our lives. However, there is a major difference between confidence that comes from the world and confidence that comes from Christ. Worldly confidence is often built upon appearance, success, wealth, popularity, talent, or personal achievements. The problem is that these things can change. When they do, confidence built upon them can quickly disappear. Biblical confidence is different because it is rooted in Christ, who never changes.

One of the greatest challenges many believers face is learning to see themselves the way God sees them. Too often, people view themselves through the lens of their failures, weaknesses, disappointments, or the opinions of others. This distorted view can lead to insecurity, fear, and low self esteem. God’s Word invites us to see ourselves differently. When we begin to see ourselves through God’s eyes, we discover our true identity, purpose, and value.

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

² The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

³ Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Low self esteem is a struggle that affects many people. It often develops from rejection, failure, criticism, painful experiences, or comparing ourselves to others. When a person has low self esteem, they may constantly feel inadequate, unworthy, or incapable. These feelings can impact relationships, decision making, and even one’s spiritual life. However, the Bible provides hope and a pathway to freedom. Through faith in God, believers can overcome low self esteem and discover their true identity in Christ.

Many people spend their lives searching for value and significance. They look for acceptance through achievements, relationships, careers, possessions, or the approval of others. Yet even after gaining these things, many still feel empty and insecure. The reason is simple. True value cannot be found in temporary things. It can only be found in what God says about us.

One of the most powerful truths in the Bible is that every human being is created in the image of God. This truth provides the foundation for understanding our value, purpose, and identity. In a world that often judges people based on their appearance, accomplishments, social status, or wealth, Scripture teaches that our worth comes from the God who made us.

In a world that constantly measures value by appearance, success, wealth, popularity, and achievements, many people struggle with self esteem. They often feel unworthy when they fail, are rejected, or do not meet society’s expectations. The Bible teaches a different perspective. Our worth is not determined by what we do or what others think of us. Our true worth is found in Jesus Christ.

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

² If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?

³ Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
