They knew the prophecies and eagerly anticipated His arrival. However, when Jesus came, He did not fit the image many had created in their minds. As a result, they rejected the very One they had been waiting for.

Jesus Challenged Tradition
One reason the world rejected Jesus Christ was because He challenged traditions that had been placed above God’s Word. During His earthly ministry, Jesus frequently confronted religious leaders who valued their customs and man made rules more than the commandments of God. While traditions can be helpful when they point people toward God, they become dangerous when they replace or contradict His truth.
