HOW DO WE WALK WITH JESUS CHRIST?

Walking in the way of Jesus is a fundamental principle of Christianity. The concept of following in Jesus’ footsteps has been emphasized throughout the Bible, and it is an essential part of Christian discipleship. The teachings of Jesus are a guide for Christians to live their lives and make decisions that are aligned with the will of God. Walking in the way of Jesus involves living a life that is modeled after his character and teachings. This article explores what it means to walk in the way of Jesus and how to apply it in our daily lives.

Firstly, walking in the way of Jesus means living a life of love. Jesus taught his disciples to love one another as he had loved them. This love is not just an emotional feeling, but it is a decision to act in the best interest of others. Walking in the way of Jesus requires us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to show kindness and compassion to those around us, and to put others’ needs before our own.

Secondly, walking in the way of Jesus means living a life of service. Jesus was a servant leader who came to serve and not to be served. He washed his disciples’ feet, healed the sick, and fed the hungry. As Christians, we are called to follow his example and serve others in our communities. We can serve by volunteering at a local shelter, giving to the church you attend, or simply being kind and helpful to those in need.

Thirdly, walking in the way of Jesus means living a life of humility. Jesus was humble and did not seek to promote himself. He put the needs of others before his own and was willing to serve without recognition. As Christians, we are called to be humble and not to seek attention or glory for ourselves. We should be willing to serve in the background and let God receive the glory.

Fourthly, walking in the way of Jesus means living a life of forgiveness. Jesus taught his disciples to forgive others, even those who had wronged them. He showed forgiveness by forgiving those who crucified him. As Christians, we are called to forgive those who have hurt us and to let go of bitterness and resentment. Forgiveness is not easy, but it is an essential part of walking in the way of Jesus.

Fifthly, walking in the way of Jesus means living a life of faith. Jesus had complete faith in God and trusted in His plan. As Christians, we are called to have faith in God and to trust in His plan for our lives. We should seek to deepen our faith through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers.

In conclusion, walking in the way of Jesus is not just a set of rules or principles to follow, but it is a way of life. It is a life of love, service, humility, forgiveness, and faith. Walking in the way of Jesus is a lifelong journey, and it requires us to be intentional about our actions and decisions. We must seek to grow in our relationship with God and follow His will for our lives. When we walk in the way of Jesus, we not only live a life that is pleasing to God, but we also impact the world around us positively.
