2 TIMOTHY 3:1-5 MSG Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.
Jesus is coming back someday. Every generation has looked forward to His return. It seems like we’re always faced with the bad choices of people around us. That can be a problem if we hang out with bad influences
Take a look at the long list of choices and attitudes common even among those who say they love God. They care about themselves, their stuff, and their desires. They don’t really want what God loves. They chase whatever amuses them at the moment.
How do we deal with people like this? First, we pray for them and for ourselves. We can’t make decisions for other people, but we can take responsibility for our own choices. You never have to do anything God has warned against. You’re always free to make the right choice.
Dear God, help me accept responsibility for my own actions. May my decisions bring honor to Your name. Amen
