The baptism of Jesus Christ is not only a unique and powerful event, it is also a clear example for every believer to follow. Even though Jesus did not need baptism for repentance or forgiveness, He still chose to be baptized, showing that obedience to God is essential in the life of faith.
When Jesus came to be baptized by John the Baptist, it was not because He was lacking anything. Instead, it was a deliberate act to demonstrate what it means to fully submit to God’s will. In Matthew 3:15, Jesus said it was necessary to fulfill all righteousness. This shows that His actions were meant to set a standard, not just for that moment, but for all who would follow Him.
